Powershell script to check current date against specific date

I set up a runbook in Orchestrator to create service requests for preventative maintenance work on specific equipment.  I need to have each runbook trigger on a specifc date regardless of the year.  Therefore I will need to have a script that will check to see if the current date matches the scheduled date in the runbook.  For example, I need the series of service requests for the August PM list to start running a particular day each August. Thank you for any help that can be provided.
