POWERSHELL SCRIPTING FOR NON-IT/NON-ADMINISTATORS - JUST AN AVERAGE JOE TRYING TO USE CREATE SCRIPTS TO AUTOMATE TASK

Hello All,

I just discovered Powershell after looking for a something that I could create some simple scripts to automate daily task such as compiling financial reports in excel or coping files between different folders on my PC.  I am not an IT person, and have very little knowledge about programming.  After watching Powershell tutorials on Youtube, I am thinking Powershell is more for IT/System Administrators and not for an average computer users like myself?

If Powershell is not intended for creating simple scripts to automate daily task for the average user (non-IT professional) then please point me in the right direction?  I am looking for something that works with Microsoft Office products.  I have tried a few Batch files and commmands to open windows and create folders, but have been told these lack security, so I moved on to Linux only to find out its a competitor of Microsoft.  Now I am with Powershell, and it looks very complicated for what I need to get done.

Please Help!
