I have a network of 3000 PC's and we are in the middle of a Windows 8 Migration. I need to write a tool that will allow me to paste a ton of hostnames into a txt file (or I can write a batch to do it, that's not really the issue), but I need it to take a batch of hostnames and do a remote lookup against the systeminfo and isolate out only the OS NAME and then export that category only into a txt file using /report.
While we're in an Operating Shift on our network I need to be able to get a report of which PC's in a group have Windows XP, Windows 7, or Windows 8 without looking by hand one by one.
I do have access to Query Active Directory through Power Shell which is what I'm going to look into next, but I figured this is probably something you brilliant guys could help me out with pretty quickly.
